Specs are the manufacturers’ own published figures. Budget bands, not prices — no price is printed because they move.

Every car seat on this page is one this site has already written up. Filter by the things that actually decide it — seat type, budget, rear-facing limit and whether you need it to fit three across — and see the shortlist change as you go.

Nothing here is scored or ranked for you, and no seat is recommended because of a commission. The specs are the manufacturers’ own published figures, and each row links to the full comparison on this site before it links anywhere else.

How to use the finder

Start with seat type if you already know it. Infant seats are carriers that lift out with the baby; convertibles stay installed and are used rear-facing first; rotating seats turn to face the door for loading; all-in-ones go from rear-facing through to a booster. The rear-facing filter is the one that matters most for how long you can keep a child in the safer position — 50 lb is the current upper end. Use the budget filter last, because it changes which seats appear but not what the safety data says about them.

Car seat finder questions

How is this different from a quiz?

A quiz walks you down one path and hands you a single answer. This shows all seventeen seats at once with every filter visible, so you can see what changing your budget or your rear-facing requirement actually does to the shortlist. You can also skip straight to the filter you care about instead of answering five questions to get there.

What do the budget bands mean?

They are bands, not prices: $ is the lower band, $$ mid, $$$ premium. Prices move, so no figure is printed here. A seat in the lower band is not less safe — every seat sold in the US has to meet the same federal standard, and the published crash-test ratings are shown for the seats this site has written up regardless of band.

Which seats fit three across?

Use the “Small car / 3-across” priority filter. Width is the constraint, and the site’s own comparison page lists the narrow seats with their measured widths. Set that filter first, then narrow by budget — doing it the other way round usually leaves you with a list that will not fit.

Does the finder save or send anything?

No. Filtering happens in your browser and nothing is stored, submitted or sent anywhere. There is no signup and no email required. If you want to keep a shortlist, the browser’s own bookmark or screenshot does it — the page does not collect anything for itself.
